On March 31, 2017, Dr. Frédéric Meylan visited our university and gave a wonderful report to the teachers and students of School of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering. The report was emceed by Prof. Liang Ni, about one hundred faculties and graduate students attended this report.
Dr. Frédéric Meylan’s report entitled “Green Chemistry”. In this report, he introduced the definition, history and principles of green chemistry, and mainly focused on Carbon Dioxide and Utilization (CCU). After the report, he briefly communicated with the faculties and students, who benefited a lot from this presentation.
Dr. Frédéric Meylan is the Swiss, he received his master’s degree of University of Lausanne in 2002, and his doctor’s degree of École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 2006. In 2011-2016, he was the senior researcher at University of Lausanne. His research area lies in industrial ecology, carbon dioxide capture and utilization (CCU), biorefineries, green chemistry, industrial symbiosis. Up to now, he has published many papers in international journals, such as Journal of Energy Storage, Energy Policy, Journal of CO2 utilization. Now, he is the international consultant for United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
