On October 25th afternoon, Dr. Naijie Zhang, a principal scientist of Pepsi Co. gave a splendid report on Water Soluble Polymers - Synthesis and Application. During the seminar, he introduced the recent research progress in synthesis and application of water soluble polymers. Dr. Naijie Zhang provided detailed reports about the synthesis and control of structures of water soluble polymers from both theory and practice. Water soluble polymers, especially high and very high molecular weight water soluble polyacrylamide, have many important usages, such as solid-liquid separations, water clarification, sludge dewatering, paper manufacturing, oil field and mining, and so on. Teachers and graduates were present at the lecture. After the meeting, Dr. Naijie Zhang visited the Lab Center of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Jiangsu University.
